Welcome to Rebu Cab ("Rebu," "we," "us," or "our"). Rebu Cab is a ride-hailing and cab aggregation platform operated by Rebu Mobility and Infrastructure Private Limited, headquartered in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect your personal information when you use:

  • Rebu Cab mobile application (Android and iOS)

  • Related services, features, and content (collectively, the "Platform")

For Riders: This policy applies when you book rides through our Platform.
For Drivers: This policy applies when you register as a driver-partner and provide services through our Platform.

We collect information to provide, improve, and personalise our services. The types of data we collect include:

2.1 Personal Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Name, email address, mobile phone number, date of birth, profile picture
  • Payment Information: Credit/debit card details, UPI ID, digital wallet information, bank account details (for drivers)
  • Identity Verification (Drivers): Driving license number, vehicle registration certificate, PAN card, Aadhaar number, vehicle insurance details, photographs
  • Ride Details: Pickup location, drop-off location, route taken, trip duration, fare amount, booking time
  • Communication Data: Messages, calls, feedback, ratings, reviews, customer support inquiries

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Location Data: Real-time GPS coordinates during rides (both rider and driver), approximate location when app is in use, location history for completed trips
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers (IMEI, advertising ID), IP address, mobile network information, browser type
  • Usage Data: App features accessed, screens viewed, time spent on app, crash reports, performance data, in-app activity logs
  • Sensor Data: Accelerometer, gyroscope data (for driver safety features and fraud detection)

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Payment processors (Razorpay, Paytm, Google Pay, PhonePe) for transaction verification
  • Map service providers (Google Maps) for navigation and location services
  • Identity verification services for driver background checks
  • Marketing partners and analytics providers

  • Verify driver identity and conduct background checks
  • Detect and prevent fraud, unauthorised access, or illegal activities
  • Monitor trips for safety concerns and respond to SOS alerts
  • Investigate accidents, disputes, or user reports
  • Maintain platform security and data integrity

3.3 Service Improvement

  • Analyze usage patterns to improve app functionality
  • Optimise driver-rider matching algorithms
  • Develop new features and services
  • Conduct research and analytics on transportation trends
  • Test and troubleshoot technical issues

3.4 Customer Support

  • Respond to inquiries, complaints, and feedback
  • Resolve billing disputes and refund requests
  • Provide technical assistance
  • Send service updates and notifications

3.5 Marketing and Communications

  • Send promotional offers, discounts, and referral rewards (with your consent)
  • Personalise marketing content based on your preferences

Location Data Collection

Location data is essential for our core ride-hailing service. We collect your precise GPS coordinates to:

  • Show nearby available drivers to riders
  • Display rider pickup locations to drivers
  • Enable turn-by-turn navigation during trips
  • Calculate accurate trip distance and fares
  • Provide estimated arrival times
  • Maintain trip history and receipts

When We Collect Location

  • Riders: When you open the app, book a ride, during an active trip, and when tracking driver arrival
  • Drivers: Continuously when you are online and available for rides, during active trips, and for up to 24 hours after your last trip (for safety and support purposes)

Location Permissions

  • Android: "Allow all the time" or "Allow only while using the app"
  • iOS: "Always Allow" or "Allow While Using App"
You can modify location permissions in your device settings. However, restricting location access will prevent you from using our ride-hailing services.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share your data only in the following circumstances:

5.1 With Other Users

  • Riders see: Driver's name, photo, vehicle details (make, model, license plate), real-time location during trip, phone number (masked)
  • Drivers see: Rider's name, profile photo, pickup/drop-off locations, phone number (masked)
  • Trip ratings and reviews are visible to the other party after trip completion

5.2 With Service Providers

We share information with trusted third-party vendors who assist us in operating the Platform:

  • Payment processors: Razorpay, Paytm, Google Pay, PhonePe
  • Cloud hosting: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud
  • Mapping services: Google Maps Platform
  • Analytics providers: Google Analytics, Firebase
  • Customer support tools: Freshdesk, Zendesk
  • SMS/email providers: Twilio, SendGrid

All service providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for specified purposes.

5.3 For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information when required by law or in good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

7.1 Access and Correction

You can view and update your account information at any time through the app settings. To request a copy of all personal data we hold about you, email privacy@rebucab.com.

7.2 Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and personal data by:

  • Selecting "Delete Account" in the app settings
  • Emailing privacy@rebucab.com with subject line "Account Deletion Request"

We will process deletion requests within 30 days. Some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, legal disputes).

7.3 Marketing Opt-Out

  • Clicking "Unsubscribe" in marketing emails
  • Disabling push notifications in app settings
  • Contacting privacy@rebucab.com

You will continue to receive transactional messages (e.g., ride confirmations, receipts) even after opting out of marketing.

7.4 Location Permissions

You can manage location access through your device settings. Note that disabling location will prevent you from using ride-hailing features.

7.5 Cookie Preferences (Website)

Our website uses cookies for analytics and functionality. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit website functionality.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction:

  • Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.3 protocol
  • Secure storage: Personal data is stored on encrypted servers with access controls
  • Payment security: We are PCI-DSS compliant; payment card data is tokenized and not stored on our servers

Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but commit to notifying affected users and authorities within 72 hours of discovering a data breach, as required by law.

Our Platform is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact privacy@rebucab.com, and we will delete such information within 30 days.

Third-party services integrated into Rebu Cab:

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing how they collect and use your data.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, including:

Any disputes arising from this Privacy Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India.
